Developed for Miroirs d’Oh exhibition, Between Winter and Summer is intended to propose landscapes and invented realities shaped by water and its different states of matter. It aims to reflect the hazardous and enthropic attributes of water by creating imaginative landscapes whose shapes are in a constant state of transformation. The artwork takes it origin in photographs and video stills taken in the Swiss Alps and lake Geneva (e.g. trees, leaves, brunches, water, ice or snow) which are digitally cut into small “building blocks’. Evoking the distance beginning of life, these building blocks are digitally recomposed to seek out new representation models that speak of perpetual movement and chance. As images of water circle between possible states of matter, they blur off the nature of winter and summer, suggesting other landscapes in an ever lasting fragility.
