The "Pichard bridge", built as an aqueduct-like between 1839 and 1844 over the Flon valley, and known today as "Le Grand Pont", significantly transformed the picturesque landscape of the city of Lausanne. During the ensuing 150 years, canals, hydraulic wheels, sawmills, wine presses, artisans' and mechanical workshops gave their place to salons, boutiques, cafes, cultural and nightlife venues. A pastoral, bucolic, and country-like place was replaced by a more industrial and commercial one. The bridge became a symbol of change and of the new industrialized age of the city.

"Under the Bridge" is a mix of new media and two dimensional work on Plexiglas, that is intended to explore technological and ecological evolution of Le Grand Pont and its surrounding area, as a way to propose a possible view into its future. Passing through the digital realm, urban and natural images are morphed and animated in a process that seeks out new dialogues of perpetual movement and change.

It forms a fragile equilibrium where shapes, forms and meanings are in a constant state of transformation, and where beginnings and endings are blurred of into some endless new possibilities.

The work was displayed in a 2 person show together with ICE OUT by Jane D. Marsching and is accompanied by an exhibition catalog: Evolving Territories
